OFW Pag-IBIG Members: Check Your Contribution Online

Posted on July 24, 2017 8 Comments

Every Pag-IBIG members probably know by now that one of the requirements for housing loan is to make 24-month contributions or a lump-sum, which I still don’t know how it works.

So to qualify for the Pag-IBIG housing loan, every member should pay the contribution however they prefer:

  1. Lump-sum payment for the whole year (a good way to spend tax refund)
  2. Monthly payment
  3. Pay from the previous month onwards

Tip: I pay the Pag-IBIG contribution online using my credit card. It’s convenient and I earn points on my credit card (Home Trust Visa Card).

In every transaction make sure to have a PDF copy. With this method my printer’s ink will last longer, then I have to remind myself to back up the files which is the least of organization that I like.

Digital technology saves the day.

Wait, digital records can get mixed up like when you go home from grocery with food that is not on the list. Or forget that hard-to-reach baking soda for the second time.

Compare the contribution in your file and the Pag-IBIG record.

The good news is you can do it online just like when you register and pay the Pag-IBIG contribution.

How an OFW can Check the Pag-IBIG Contribution Online

I know your busy but the following steps wouldn’t take so much of your time. The options are so easy and fast that I highly suggest you DO both. Really. You should.

1st Option: OFW Member’s Contribution Verification

  1. Go to OFW Member’s Contribution Verification. Enter the member’s data.
  2. Click View Membership Savings.
  3. Print the record; either save as PDF or on paper. (I would suggest a soft copy.)

The record show the total remittance from the first month of contribution to the last. You might be confused looking at the record because of the transaction date and amount.

It doesn’t tell the month covered in the transaction so that’s why I suggest you to also request an Employee’s Statement of Accumulated Value (ESAV) at the end of the year.

2nd Option: Employee’s Statement of Accumulated Value (ESAV)

I came across ESAV while reading about Pag-IBIG housing loan. This is a time saver since I don’t have to ask my family in the Philippines to get it for me.

All you have to do is to send an email to ofwcenter@pagibigfund.gov.ph and request for ESAV with your member’s information. And that’s it, your ESAV will arrive in the inbox. By then, it’s time to look for differences.

It’s better to deal with any error right away while preparing to apply for a Pag-IBIG housing loan.

Keeping accurate record is rewarding. I’ve proven it many times to myself and my parents. I didn’t sign up as an archivist of our family but I often deal with financial records (sa loob ng lumang maleta from 90s pa ata).

How do you prefer to pay the member’s contribution and how’s your record keeping so far?
