Moving into a new house doesn’t only involve packing and moving stuff. I also realized that I have to change many addresses on my account on banks, discount brokerage, and credit card.
One of my credit cards is Rogers Platinum Mastercard which I am happy to have because of high cash back that I can use to offset the foreign transaction fee.
The good thing about it is that I applied online and can do a lot of things through the account without having to call the customer support.
Here’s how you can change the address on Rogers Platinum Mastercard:
- Login on Rogers Bank.
- Choose SERVICES on the menu at the left.
- Choose Update Address/Phone Numbers under Manage Your Profile category.
- Update the Address.
The request will be processed within 3 business days.
But it didn’t take that long for me. I received an email the next day from Rogers Bank about a successful address update.
One down. More addresses to go.
I’ll give the details of the addresses that I have to update on a blog post about moving to a new house because I have the feeling that I’ll be moving to different houses as a renter.
As you all know by now, I am one of the millennials who likes to rent than owning a house in Canada.
But a house is an investment?
Not for me. I’ll buy a house in the Philippines for my retirement.
Isn’t it nice to have a house and retire early, at least before the traditional retirement age of 65 years old.
Renting can help me achieve FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early). I learned about this awesome term through MillionaireBefore50 who is also a Pinoy personal finance blogger.
Imagine telling people, “I’m on FIRE.”
Not the spontaneous human combustion kind but someone who has the time to learn how to build a sand castle on a beach anywhere on earth.
Is it that hard to use nature to create a masterpiece? Maybe I’ll settle to a hill of sand with saltwater around it ha ha.
