My last post was about checking free credit score on Tangerine; back then, I was complaining and wishing that there will be a way to also check free credit score on your TD bank account.
Before the year ends, I am ecstatic that TD step up to the plate. It’s about time with all the chequing fees charge to consumers for as low as $3.95 for TD Minimum Chequing Account. Whereas, Tangerine has $0 fees for opening a chequing account, that goes for all of their accounts.
I don’t pay the $10.95 monthly fee for TD Every Day Chequing Account because I meet the daily maintaining balance . . . for now.
Check Credit Score on TD Bank’s App
I first found out about the free credit score through the TD app and that was in late October.
My TD credit score was 852. Slight higher than my Tangerine credit score of 842.

TransUnion provides the credit score for both banks and maybe in other Big Banks. I was hoping I could also get a credit score from Equifax. I can, if I sign up on Borrowell, but I wouldn’t.
- Log in to TD mobile app.
- Tap More on the menu below.
- Tap Credit Score and tap Continue.
As of this writing my current TD credit score is 850 which is a minuscule drop of 2 points compare to the October credit score. Aside from using the app, you can also log in to the website of TD Bank to check the credit score.
Note: I don’t do anything special nor complicated to get a high credit score other than I continue to pay all of my bills at the end of the month including my line of credit (whenever I remember I still have it then I use it rarely).

The only debt I have is from Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) on Samsung mobile through Affirm.
By mid year next year, I’m done paying it off or I could pay the balance whenever I want to but I prefer to save cash for my emergency fund which I used lately due to medical family emergency (meaning not for myself).
Final Thoughts
If you want to learn more about how I maintain a high credit score, you can read my post about my Tangerine credit score.
Although, I have a high score and my BNPL interest-free debt doesn’t seem to affect my credit score, I wouldn’t want to get into the habit of getting into debt unless it’s necessary such as for education, mortgage, or car financing.
Do you bank in one of the Big Five banks? Can you check your credit score for free?
